80's inspired make-up, Doc Martens and Gym Equipment

Hello everyone!

Last weekend I was in the mood to try something different with my make-up and so I did an 80's inspired make-up look rather than sticking super closely to the actual style. I made the inner corners of my eyebrows more pointed and I took my silver eyeshadow up to meet my brows in the inner corners. The effect is subtle and easier to wear in the day-time but it is still very much visible.

My outfit was really simple, a zipped bodycon skirt, plain black tight 3/4 sleeve top, meshed tights and knee high doc martens along with my bat necklace. I pinned my hair down on one side too.

Soooo serious

Tis Autumn and tis cold and so I wore my leather jacket. This was 7 euro in a charity shop and its from Topshop so it was probably originally at least 50/60 euro so this is one of my better finds! It goes well with the overall style too I think.

I dusted (literally) off my knee high doc martens too as I haven't worn them in aaages. They are very comfortable but lacing them up does get tedious! I usually only lace every 3rd or 4th hole in fact.

A more recent purchase! These tights were 3euro in Penneys/Primark and they are gorgeous, quite thick and good quality. I'll obviously have to be careful not to catch them in anything but they are quite well made, not flimsy at all!

In other very exciting news, myself and my fiance's gym equipment finally arrived!! We are starting a personal training business and obviously needed the equipment before we could really begin. This is our set-up and it is everything we need to start helping people get stronger, healthier and happier! I am a fan of teaching classes and so will likely be doing that in community halls too. Very exciting weekend and exciting times ahead!

How do you like to spend your weekends? Do you like going out and doing lots of things or do you like your weekend to hide from the world and regroup in your own space? I like both depending on the weekend. Sometimes going out and getting things done is me doing 'me' time too.

Thanks for reading,
Rebecca!

Some Wear Leather and Lace

Hello there and welcome to my blog!

This is an outfit from earlier in the week that I really liked, it was very comfortable and easy to move in whilst still looking nice .The whole thing was based around me wanting to wear this lace top that I made from lace tights a few years ago. I found it recently and decided to wear it  so I put it with this red lace shirt and some high waisted leather look shorts!

I love these things!

I wore this simple fang necklace from Claire's accessories.

My make-up was realllly simple as this was all put together in the changing rooms after training legs at the gym.  I find heavy make-up doesn't really go well after the gym as I remain red-faced and warm for a few hours afterwards despite cooling down, showering and washing my face. My make-up usually just kinda melts off my face! I have the usual foundation and concealer, eyebrows and then just brown eye-liner and mascara!

Look! I got a bat! He hangs over my bed and has tinsel on him and red eyes. He is very cute!

A recent purchase, I got a 5 album set from Bauhaus for I think 18 euro! I own very few cds but I want to change that and build up a collection because I just love having physical copies of things! Is anyone else like that? Seems like everyone is into digital copies of things these days.

I picked up these lace fingerless gloves in Claire's this week too! They were around 7 euro and very handy to have. I lost my old ones, no idea where they ended up! I love these little touches that add something extra to an outfit!

Pssst. Aren't these the cat's pajamas?! Sorry... Hehehehe. These are pink, fluffy and have cats on them. So I now own them. Naturally. Soooo soft and fluffy.

Well thats it for this post! Hope you enjoyed reading, thank you so much for visiting my blog!

Retiring My Beloved Doc Martens

Hello everyone! :)

Today's post is on the retirement of my eight year old baby Doc Marten boots.

I bought my first pair of docs when I was 15. I worked for two weeks in a local newsagents before realising that the schedule would interfere with my school work too much. So I took my two weeks wages to Dublin and bought my 8 hole docs. After I bought them I decided that they didn't look good on me but a little while later I began to wear them more and more and continued to wear them pretty much continuously for the last eight years. However I replaced them last week after saving up enough money to do so- there is a hole in one of them big enough to put your fingers through and whilst it does look kinda cool, it is cold and wet when it rains!

I have worn these boots to China, Switzerland, Germany and probably loads more I can't remember. Multiple gigs. Many nights out. Throughout the duration of my two college degrees.  Rain hail and snow. I wore them on my first ever proper night out. Even as my style changed these boots were a constant. It may seem silly but I am so incredibly attached to these boots. So much history!

Looking good for eight years of pretty much continuous wear, no?

Unfortunately in cold wet weather this is a problem. I live in Ireland.
It's cold and wet here a lot!

Behold my new babies. They are eight hole again but this time in
sexy patent leather.
I love them.
I bought a pair of patent ones because I love love love patent and whilst I didn't have a problem with the style of my first ones, I thought a change would be good. They have already kept me company during a night in A&E (muscle strain causing dizziness nothing madly serious) so I think that they shall be part of many more interesting memories.

Yes I really do care this much about my boots ;)

What about you guys? Anything you are very attached to and dread having to replace/retire one day? I would love to hear about it!

Regards,
Rebecca.
