Textures and Colour

Hello everyone!

Last week I put together an outfit and make-up look that I was really pleased with! My sister got me some awesome lipsticks and I came up with a look surrounding the red lipstick in the set, does anyone else plan their outfits the night before? In college I used to lay out my clothes and accessories for the next day, I like to be organised!

I kept the eyes simple with a cat eye and  I also painted my nails red for the ultimate matchy matchy effect.

I wanted to wear this cut out crop top that I love so much- a wet look skater skirt and patterned tights seemed like the perfect match!

My red watch made an appearance! Red and black was the order of the day.

I wore my usual doc martens and Winter friendly outerwear but thats not very exciting!

Thats it for today's blog post, thanks for reading,

Outfit and Art!

Hello lovely reader and welcome to Sunday's post!

This will be a short outfit and make-up post along with a photo of my latest drawing! This was taken last weekend, the weather was really bright which made me think of wearing... *le gasp*... white! Shocking. It's just shocking- the goth girl wearing colour! Hehehe.

I was very happy with my makeup (I say that every week, my skills are limited so I just do the same thing all the time hah). I overdrew my lips with a nude lip liner which is why I have that silly pout in these two photos, I couldn't help it! Also I am growing my hair and it is starting to get longer which I am very pleased about, aiming for shoulder length hair as I miss my curls. Hope it doesn't take forever!

Simple smoky eye and winged eyeliner! Just look at those lengths of hair on the left though, finally growth!

I have no idea why I look so smug in this photo... This was my outfit of choice, super comfy! Quite colourful by my standards.

These are the cat ears I wear when I do my make-up to keep my hair out of my face! Love these things. I wore them out a few times and got miaowed at by strange men in Dublin so I stopped doing that. True story.

The light in my room sucks in Winter so it has been damn near impossible to draw for probably two months. I have a daylight lamp on the way BUT we got some decent sun lately so here is what I came up with. Pretty pleased with how it came out. I have since bought an A3 sketch pad as A2 is very limiting in terms of how much detail you can fit in.

I am glad that Spring will be coming soon so there is more light, I love Halloween and Christmas and Winter but they can be very restricting months in so many ways.

Do you prefer the Winter or Summer months? Does the Winter gloom get you down or do you thrive around this time of year?

Outfit Post!

Hey everyone and welcome to today's blog post!

The weather has been so miserable lately and the lighting has been pretty bad which makes getting a good outfit post quite difficult but I got some photos of a recent look that I put together! Its a simple burgundy crop jumper and black printed pencil skirt. I added a simple black flower in my hair, did a smoky eye and chose a lip colour that complimented the jumper. It was all hidden away under a bit coat and scarf but that's Winter for you!

Very pleased with how this simple lookcame together, I've been really into lipsticks lately. I was an eye-shadow and eye-liner gal for so long! I never used to wear anything on my lips which makes me cringe a bit when I look back, I always look so unfinished in old photos.

This is a close up of the jumper I was wearing, its pretty much my favourite jumper. I love the depth it has with the black running through it.

My favourite black hair flower!

That's it for today's blog post! Do you guys have any trusty pieces of clothing or accessories that always seem to save the day? For me it's definitely hair flowers and scarves! Let me know in the comments!

New Year's Thoughts

Well, a new year has begun and I feel quite relieved about that. 2015 was not a bad year but it was a slow year in many ways, I spent a lot of it finding my feet which was a slow process and I wish I was there already. Building oneself up after a lot of difficulties is a lengthy process and sometimes feels like you are going backwards but here we are on the first day of 2016 and things are considerably more open and positive for the future!

2015 Highlights

1) Starting to blog again even though I am painfully inconsistent with it. I am getting back to being more myself again and having this blog as an outlet really helped with that. Thank you all for reading and commenting xxx

2) Fixing my squat after serious hip pain for months. Last proper working session had me on 75kg for 5x3 which is a huge deal for me. That took a lot of persistence and many many tears.

3) Getting my 100kg deadlift and 50kg bench press. Major goals!

4) Starting my personal training business, very excited for 2016!

5) Starting to draw and do photography again.

6) Getting back to giving fewer fucks- life is just better that way.

2015 Major Lessons Learned

People flippantly say things that can sit with you for a long time because they are unhappy with themselves and their lives. Or they may simply be ignorant and clueless.  It truly reflects more on them than it ever will on you.

Someone said to me this year- If you have a talent and you do nothing with it then you are being selfish because talents are often there to bring positive things to the world and to share with others. Bring yourself into it less and just think about putting energy into the world.

Its ok to be unconventional, creative and a bit odd.

2016 Goals

1) Get our business off the ground and start making a difference in people's lives.

2) Start doing something with singing because I like it.

3) Squat 100kg, bench 60kg and deadlift 120kg. That would be a squat of just over 1.5x bodyweight, a 1x bodyweight bench press and a 2x bodyweight deadlift. That will require some serious training and work but I aim to do it by December 31st 2016.

4) Keep drawing. I really especially like drawing because it totally shuts my brain off from the outside world which is quite the feat. I just need to remember to take breaks for food and things like that. I can easily go 4/5 hours at it thinking I have only been there for an hour.

5) Continue giving fewer fucks! Encourage others to do the same. Put positive energy into the world and be happy!

What about you guys? What were your highlights and/or lessons of 2015? Do you have any New Year's Resolutions or things you just want to achieve this year?

Sparkles and Monochrome- Christmas Shopping

Hey everyone and welcome to today's blog post!

I was out looking at Christmas decorations when I noticed that there were a lot of darker colours and quirkier things adorning the shelves! I thought it would make a nice blog post so I hope that you enjoy looking at the pretty sparkly shiny things. I love Christmas!

These black and white decorations are what prompted me to make the post because I was looking at them thinking... god they are so gawth!

This beautiful decoration really caught my eye with its gorgeous colours and ornate design.

I love this one, black and silver are a win in my book!

Ok so this just screams Tim Burton, it seems a strange choice for Christmas but I'm ok with it!

Yeah I don't know what this is meant to be but it was 40 euro and it looks like a medieval weapon so I thought I'd give it a feature! It was heavy too. Very odd!

Cat cat cat! I like this one, it's soooo cute. Look at those faces!

The imagery isn't particularly gawth on this bag but I love it so I thought I'd share. There are a lot of animal themed decorations out this year!

I'll just leave this here... hehehe...

Well that's it for this week, I really wanted to share the things that caught my gothically inclined eye with all of you! Do you like Christmas? Do you go for traditional decorations or do you goth things up a little bit? Maybe you hate Christmas with a fiery passion? Hahah let me know!

Outfit Post-Bat Skirt

Hey everyone!

This is an outfit post from a little while ago before the weather here turned really bad. It's been windy rainy and miserable the last while, Winter has well and truly set in!

I am wearing a Hellbunny bat skirt, mesh tights, doc martens, cut out crop top from Boohoo.com and a plain cami underneath!

The skirt is so epic and swishy, I have shown it before on this blog in my birthday post, I wear it a lot. Lately I've been wearing leggings instead of tights for extra warmth.

I love this style of top with the cut out! I'm also wearing my usual lace gloves.

I had a boring jacket on top so nothing worth getting a picture of!

That's it for today's post! What have you guys been wearing now that it has been heading into Winter? Do you layer up leggings and longer tops up with lighter things or do you have a separate Winter collection? Let me know in the comments!

I layer everything up and have a few Winter items. I don't like big bulky jumpers and I'm very picky about what looser flowy things I wear!

Until next time,
Rebecca

October Favourites!

Hello there gorgeous people of the internet!

Today I wanted to do an October favourites post as I had a few things that I was really into this past month!

1) Blogging! I have LOVED blogging this past month, I have really enjoyed having an outlet for some of my hobbies and interests and I have loved talking to everyone too! The internet is just way more fun when you are part of the goth blogging community if you ask me!

2) So like, lately I have been really feeling the whole over the knee boot trend. I got these in New Look for a very reasonable 50 euro and have been loving them. They go with quite a lot surprisingly enough and are quite comfortable once I have two pairs of socks on. They are a wide fit which I didn't realise until I wore them the first time. These were quite the bold new purchase for me as they are unlike a lot of my usual footwear but hey, a girl's gotta have variety right?

I stole this from my Instagram.
They look GREAT over jeans too for a colder weather look.

3) Well I do love a good bargain and so I was delighted to spot this lipstick on sale in Boots in exactly the colour and finish I was looking for. It goes best over a lip liner in the same colour but it is somewhat transparent and shiny making it an easy one to wear during the day or in a rush. I love these lip crayons as they apply so nicely and don't take long. If I am in a rush I can pop on some Mascara, fill in my brows, pop some colour on my lips and look done up super fast.

4) I had been neglecting my skin this summer and so I bought some of the Dr. Organic skincare line after hearing about how great it is. I have been really pleased with the results and have been especially loving the face wash, dead sea mask and rescue remedy eye roller! I intend to really keep up with a good skincare routine from now on!

5) I really enjoyed using the Leo Bancroft hair mask pictured below, my bleached hair needs a lot of TLC pretty much all of the time and I get these sachets in Tesco for 1.30 and they really work. This product along with copious amounts of coconut oil have both really kept my hair looking vaguely decent which is nice! Then I have also been loving making my own purple shampoo by mixing some of the Directions Violet hair dye in with my shampoo and leaving it for a few minutes before rinsing. That really helped me get my hair a more white shade in October, I am currently more yellow toned after getting my roots done but a wash or two with that DIY shampoo should get me back to a cooler toned look.

6) Cold weather has set in which means that I have been really enjoying wearing patterned tights with my skirts and shorts where possible. I also wear leggings underneath my skirts if it is really cold or jeans but if I can get away with it I like to dress up too. This is an entire bowl full of patterned tights!

That is it for today's blog post. What did you guys love during the month of October? Any particular outfits or make-up products? Maybe you picked up an old hobby or started reading a new book? Let me know in the comments!
